Reseal-it® team attends PACE USA 2017
Reseal-it® by Macfarlane Labels are attending the Packaging & Converting Executive Forum (PACE) USA in Chicago on the 17th and 18th May.
This year’s event will host over 100 packaging design and innovative development experts and will be themed around Unlocking the key to a successful packaging design process to deliver a functional, appealing and engaging product.
The two-day meeting will focus on topics such as brand management, value-added packaging, personalisation and functional design. A great emphasis will also be put on issues related to improving product impact, customer engagement and functional delivery.
Angela Campbell, Resealable Labels Director at Macfarlane Labels, will present a talk on “Promoting healthy lifestyles and convenience through effective packaging.”
Below are some of the points she will discuss.
Considering how packaging can effect portion control and sharing
Packs with easy-open functionality promote sharing and encourage consumers to reduce portions. They can be easily reclosed for later use, which helps customers to better manage their weekly food purchases and reduce food waste (as less food ends up in the bin).
Revealing the effect packaging can have on freshness
While standard packs lose their preserving properties after opening, resealable packaging solutions such as Reseal-it® packs can be opened and closed up to 25 times without compromising product’s quality. Products stay fresh for longer and customers can consume them safely for an extended time.
Highlighting methods for waste reduction and sustainability
A shocking 88 million tonnes of food is thrown away in the EU countries each year. Resealable packs can be opened and closed many times, which helps to keep products fresh and eliminates the need for secondary packaging.
Discovering the advantages of easy opening functionality
A recent study by Which? has discovered that hard-to-open packaging is preventing a quarter of the public from eating what they want. Resealable packs are easy to open and you don’t need additional items such as knives or scissors to access the contents (which helps to prevent packaging-related injuries).
